Getting a child to like haircuts can be tough at first. There are a number of kids haircut struggles parents face, but just practicing haircuts with children can go a long way. In today’s video, I’m going to review some tips for successful child haircuts, especially if you’re considering getting toddler haircuts or for young children who may not be used to it yet. The truth is, haircuts and children with special needs don’t mix well together, because of the developmental delays that they already have, making it even more difficult. It might take a while to get your child or client with autism adapted to the idea of even stepping into a barber shop. However, if you take the time to map out the steps for children and haircuts, starting from stepping into the barber shop, to leaving, you’re on your way to tantrum-free haircuts. Once you’ve mapped out each step, and practiced with your child or client, also make sure to look for a store that gives out child friendly haircuts.

Knowing how to plan, assess, and act for problems behaviors like these is critical in helping your child overcome their problem behaviors. For more information on how you can start to turn autism around for your child or client, download my free 3-step guide today!
